All workers that may encounter RF energy on rooftops and other high-fixed workplaces (i.e., roofers, painters, custodial and maintenance workers and anyone who regularly access rooftops).
*This training is NOT directed towards tower or cell-site RF workers who should instead take RF1002*
Explain biological effects of RF Energy including Thermal / Non-Thermal / Startle Effects, and Shock & Burn Contact.
Understand the roles of industry standards including FCC, OSHA, NEPA & NCRP.
Explain Ionizing versus Non-Ionizing EME Awareness.
Recognize controlled and uncontrolled areas according to Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) limits including the “six-minute rule.”
Understand Mathematical Calculations, On-Site Measurements and Theoretical Modeling.
Explain what RF Safety signage means and how to properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identify antenna locations on rooftops including stealth antennas (i.e., Parapet Placement) and safe work environment rules.
Recognize towers that have AM detuning hardware and safety procedures.
